The School of Open Learning (SoL) established under the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune in 2018 is a pioneer Institution in the field of Open and Distance Education in India. It is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. Savitribai Phule Pune University having status of graded Autonomy by UGC. It has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering graduate and under-graduate courses. All study centres are identified in the constituency of University and they are fully equipped with appropriate infrastructure. And responsible study centres are working as caretaker of all learners and provide essential personal contact under the guidelines of school. Smt. Sudhatai Mandke College, Centre for Distance Education is an approved study centre of the SoL since 2002. We offer Graduate and Post-Graduate courses in Commerce & Arts. 

After many requests from our graduate students; who either no longer stay in Pune / or are working full time; insisting on completing their post-graduation as well from Mandke College, we decided to apply for the SPPU School of Open Learning.

Open and Distance Learning (ODL) is a system where the teachers and learners need not necessarily be present either at same place or same time and is flexible in regard to modalities and timing of teaching and learning as also the admission criteria without compromising necessary quality considerations. The School of Open Learning (SoL) offers Undergraduate/Postgraduate Degree courses in the various subjects of Arts and Commerce faculty. The medium of instruction of all courses in Marathi and English. This is becoming more and more significant for continuing education, skill updating of in-service personnel or those who want to learn higher education. It also simultaneously focuses on quality education of relevance to learners located at educationally disadvantageous locations.
